ABOUT THE PROJECT

Making a dramatic architectural statement at the corner of Yonge Street and Byng Avenue in North York – GRAND TRIOMPHE 2 features a striking angular and curved facade in brilliant tinted glass, warm pre-cast surfaces, balconies and architectural details that culminate in a distinctive finial crest on the 30th floor. A promenade of shops and commercial offices make up the podium level along Yonge and Byng, giving the building a pleasing street presence. Five prestigious townhomes flank the east façade overlooking a manicured urban park on Doris Avenue and a private off-the-road entrance leads to a landscaped courtyard and the front entrance to the building. Grand Triomphe 2 is the grand finale of Tridel’s masterplanned Northtown community featuring picturesque parklands, landscaped gardens, walking paths and over 2500 homes in 9 condominium high-rises, a retirement community, carriage homes and townhomes – all supported by street level retail, commercial offices and a 24 hour Metro grocery market.

Comments

Best argument in favour of putting a Burka over a building that I’ve seen. Or have Burka put one over on us?

Old school, this is boring.

looks like a condo in China, very massive and not elegant at all.
I don’t know who gives these stupid names to condos, but Grand Triomphe sounds far fetched or sarcasticly funny.

I think that was precisely the idea.

This replica worked well in Mississauga at Hurontario/Eglinton. Not so in North York. How did North York getting Totalinarianistic architecture? Tridel usually adds a good touch of residential developments, but this is ridiculous!

Dubai in Toronto…

wow…..someone is using the same cookie cutter up at North York Centre….

Looks like a massive RAM chip.
Fail

The very best of Beijing Neo-Capitalist Totalitarian style.

1986 Hong Kong called. They want their building back.
