About the Project

Tower Hill Developments retained Quadrangle to design a new luxury condominium building on surplus land adjacent to Tower Hill East, one of a pair of iconic high-rise rental apartment buildings built in Toronto in the 1960s. Designed to maximize views and minimize visual obstructions for adjacent structures, the 14 storey, 43 unit building is enveloped by curved north- and south-facing walls, featuring floor-to-ceiling windows, supported on a central stone-like spine. The top two floors are set back from the main face of the structure and house two storey penthouse units. The plan also includes lush landscaping on the entire site. Intensive planting around the periphery planting provides a visual buffer between the new development and the adjacent rental and condominium buildings abutting the site. The overall development demonstrates an effective and creative approach to residential intensification on a main thoroughfare in close proximity to a subway station and established residential community.
