About the Project

Stantec Architecture / KPMB Architects in Joint Venture worked with George Brown College (GBC) to develop a new Centre for Health Sciences to accommodate 3,300 full time students and approximately 1,000 part-time students. The new facility is located on a new Waterfront Campus on Lake Ontario comprising approximately 360,000 square feet. The new campus houses the following schools; dental health, health and wellness, health services management and nursing. The overarching campus is to realize an interprofessional education delivery model through the creation of a sustainable environment where students from different professional programs can learn with, from and about each other to understand the importance of collaboration and its impact on quality of care. The campus is envisioned as a ‘living lab’ that provides and evaluates innovative client service models and products that emphasize wellness and health promotion, in collaboration with external partners.
