About the Project

Located within Liberty Village on Hanna Street, this project provides thirteen stories of “live-work” lofts on a transitional site between the residential buildings to the east and commercial buildings to the west. The L-shaped plan frames a south-facing forecourt featuring birch trees, diagonal paths and outdoor seating. A multi-use lobby provides front desk and elevator access, offices, meeting rooms, and a gallery featuring the work of neighbourhood artists. Residential amenity includes a basketball half-court, exercise, and yoga rooms.

Most suites are two stories in height with double-height living and work space on the lower level and bedrooms and bathrooms on the upper level. This arrangement is expressed on the exterior with oversized windows providing views to the lake and skyline. A collage of materials knits the building into the surrounding context with red masonry mimicking adjacent buildings and metal balcony frames provide an industrial aesthetic alluding to the area’s history.
