About the Project

Maple Leaf Square is a bold and energetic 24 hour sports, entertainment and residential precinct in downtown Toronto. Situated between the Toronto Financial District and Harbourfront, and anchored by the adjacent Air Canada Centre, the new complex consolidates the area into a vital sports and entertainment district in the city. The design integrates two slender residential towers with a mixed use podium comprising retail, entertainment, hotel, daycare, and office space. The podium is distinguished by a frit glass 'wrapper' floating above the retail base that carries large-scale signage visible from the Gardiner Expressway. The glass wraps continuously around the podium, interrupted only at the northwest and southeast by stone corners. The roof of the podium is landscaped into a series of courtyards and terraces for hotel, daycare and residential uses.

You can get away from your job and lie down here. Let's buy it.
What's with the rotting iron tree trunks? Retirees could spend years pondering those things.

Seems to similar to the TIFF Lightbox. Nothing really stand out particularly, expect some parts of the podium and the diagonal balconies.

The art installation is nice, but it interferes a little with how much of the building you can see, at street level.

The office bottom looks okay but would have been nicer in colour or bunch of colours
The diagonal accent on the towers is pretty nice
I'm trying to hate it but it's not happening

Nice podium, nice square, awful towers. What's with the hospital-green cladding on the roof?

the towers look permantly unfinished dull and sloppy

which isn't saying much, really. Lol. But, the base blends well. The layout of the area is very confusing and still very suburban-esque with cars still ruling the area. But, that's not the fault of the condo.

Never have a photograph of your building published or posted with traffic bollards in it!

Neither like nor hate.

Square is much too cold.
